Breakfast Food

Peaches & Cream Cereal pg. 111 I enjoyed this recipe for breakfast this morning. They had some typing errors and I changed the recipe a bit. Below is how I made it:

3/4 c. rolled oats soaked in water 12-24 hours with some whey (to break down phytates) In the morning rinse and drain.
1 peach, sliced
1/4 c. sliced almonds
1/4 t. vanilla
1 t. maple syrup
1/4 c. milk or cream
1/4 c. apple juice
salt to taste
 
Combine all ingredients and mix. Serve Raw.
 

Breakfast Day 3

For Breakfast this morning I had:

Creamy Banana Milk pg. 111—It wasn’t that great. 😦 I actually think it looks more appetizing in this picture than it did this morning! I would do more bananas and less sunflower seeds and water. The dates were probably the right amount. Definitely could be worth it to tweak the recipe.

Raw Whole Grain Cereal pg. 112 This would make a great alternative to hot porridge in the summer!

2 T whole grain of choice (I chose oat groats—Yummy!)
3 pieces dried fruit (I chose dates)
5 T distilled water or enough to cover cereal
Fresh fruit of choice (I chose 1/2 banana)
 
The evening before, grind grain to a coarse powder consistency. Add liquid, cover and allow to sit overnight. (I would add dates at this point too)
Next morning slice fruit into cereal.

Serve and Enjoy!
